I don't care much about this or that political leader; But i'm immediately suspicious when i see the prosecution invent a new kind of crime and the police terrorize a key witness just to get said leader on trial. To me it suggests a conspiracy, and makes me question their true motivations.

Placing your ideals above your own survival is admirable, but self-defeating. There will be no one left to adhere to your ideals if there is no ''you'' left.
Imagine you bought a house and your government goes "Oh, the papers are in order, the contract is properly signed and the seller got the money, yes, but he seems to be very upset about this for some reason, so you should just give up and forget it ever happened."

Anyone who ever dealt with bullies should know that punching yourself in the face does not in any way diminish their desire to punch you themselves. And, even if it did, there is one obvious problem with this strategy: you end up having been punched in the face regardless.

To my best understanding, opposition to Zionism hinges on one of the following beliefs:
* That Jews are not a people, and therefore have no right to national self-determination;
* That Jews are perfectly safe and can prosper just fine in diaspora, and therefore have no need of national self-determination; or
* That national self-determination in itself is bad and should be abolished.
