Israel 🇮🇱: Protests against Prime Minister spread to military
I am very surprised by this, but soldiers in #Israel 🇮🇱 are protesting the proposed constitutional changes that would weaken the judiciary.
There are already mass protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but I was surprised to read that it has spread to the military.
I wonder if this will trigger another round of elections.
@darnell
I'm curious, how common is it in democracies for the military to have a distinct political opinion, independent from that of the government, and to decide whether or not they are going to perform their duties based on how much they agree with the political views of the current elected government?

@simon I think it is very rare. At least it was very rare in Israel.
